Lighting

Dim blue.

Stage Blocking

Alex sits center stage with backpack, head down.

Dialogue

Narrator:
Everyone loves a diamond. But before it shines, it goes through pressure… darkness… and time.

Sometimes our lives feel like that too.

(Alex sighs loudly.)

Alex:
Great. Just great. My parents grounded me for a month. My coach benched me. And my youth leader probably has a prayer meeting about me.

(Friends enter.)

Friend 1:
Hey Alex, we missed you.

Alex:
You shouldn’t. I’m kind of a walking bad decision.

Friend 2:
What happened?

Alex:
Let’s see… bad choices, bad attitude, bad results.

Friend 3 (joking):
You forgot bad hair day.

Alex:
This isn’t funny!

Friend 1:
Nobody said it was. But God hasn’t given up on you.

Alex:
You don’t know what I did.

Friend 2:
Maybe not. But we know what Jesus did.

(Pause.)

Alex:
What if I’m too messed up?

Friend 1:
Nobody is too far gone.

Narrator:
Some people believe their mistakes are bigger than God’s mercy.

But God says otherwise.

Cue Song

Choir sings Never Too Far Gone

(Alex slowly stands during the song as friends stand beside him.)

Scene 2 -  “Run Devil Run”

Lighting

Purple/red dramatic lighting. Slight “spooky but silly” music.

Stage Blocking

  • Jayden stands stage right scrolling phone.

  • Devil enters from behind audience if possible.

Props

  • Clipboard labeled “Temptation Menu”

  • Sunglasses

  • Toy pitchfork

  • Phone

  • “Bad Idea Button” (optional prop)

Scene Begins

(Jayden scrolling phone.)

Jayden:
Okay… just one more video… then I’ll stop.

(Pause.)

Okay… two more.

(Pause.)

Okay… fifteen more but THEN I stop.

(Devil pops up behind him suddenly.)

Devil:
That’s the spirit!

Jayden (jumps):
AHHH! Who are you?!

Devil (posing dramatically):
I am the Prince of Darkness… the Lord of Lies… the Sultan of Sin…

(Beat.)

…also part-time bad decision consultant.

Jayden:
You look like a Halloween decoration.

Devil:
Excuse me. This cape cost me three souls and an Amazon coupon.

Devil Introduces Himself

Devil:
Call me Dev. All my friends do.

Jayden:
You have friends?

Devil:
Not really. It’s more of a toxic work environment.

Temptation Menu

(Devil opens clipboard.)

Devil:
Welcome to tonight’s menu!

Temptation Combo #1:
Lie to your parents.

Temptation Combo #2:
Copy your homework.

Temptation Combo #3:
Gossip about your friends.

Jayden:
Do you have anything healthy?

Devil:
Sure! We have organic jealousy and free-range pride.

Audience Interaction

(Devil turns to audience.)

Devil:
Let’s take a quick poll.

Audience… raise your hand if you’ve ever stayed up WAY too late watching videos.

(Pause for laughs.)

Wow. My work here is incredible.

Devil Tempts More

Devil:
Here’s another idea: compare yourself with everyone online.

Jayden:
That actually makes me feel terrible.

Devil:
Exactly! My favorite outcome.

Friends Enter

(Friends run on stage.)

Friend 1:
Jayden! Who are you talking to?

Jayden:
The devil.

Friend 2:
That explains a lot.

Devil:
HEY! I’m standing right here.

Devil Brags

Devil:
Look, kids… I’ve been doing this for thousands of years.

I invented:

  • procrastination

  • drama

  • and group chats that never stop buzzing.

(Audience laugh.)

Friends Challenge the Devil

Friend 3:
You forgot something.

Devil:
What?

Friend 3:
Jesus already defeated you.

(Devil freezes.)

Devil:
Technically… that was a rough weekend for me.

Devil Tries One Last Time

Devil:
Okay okay. But one tiny sin won’t hurt.

Jayden:
That’s what you always say.

Friend 1:
We know the truth now.

Friend 2:
You don’t control us.

Devil:
Are you sure about that?

(Devil presses imaginary “bad idea button.”)

Devil:
Temptation mode activated!

(Nothing happens.)

Devil:
Wait… why isn’t it working?

Jayden:
Because we’re not fighting alone.

Audience Participation

Friend 3 (to audience):
Hey everyone!

When we say RUN, you shout DEVIL RUN!

Let’s practice!

Friends: RUN!

Audience: DEVIL RUN!

Devil:
Oh no… not audience participation…

Final Confrontation

Jayden (bold):
In the name of Jesus…

Friends + Audience:
RUN DEVIL RUN!

(Devil panics.)

Devil:
THIS WAS NOT IN MY CONTRACT!

(Devil runs in circles across stage.)

Devil:
I’m leaving! I’m leaving!

But I’ll be back during exam week!

(Runs off stage.)

Narrator Transition

(Lighting shifts to hopeful.)

Narrator:
Temptation is real.
But God gives us power to resist.

When we stand in truth, the enemy has to flee.

Scene 3 — “Your Way Is Better”

Lighting

Soft white/blue.

Stage Blocking

Maya sits right stage scrolling phone.

Dialogue

Maya:
Perfect hair. Perfect life. Perfect followers.

How does everyone online look happier than me?

(Friend sits beside her.)

Friend 2:
Because it’s the internet.

Maya:
Everyone else seems more talented… prettier… cooler.

Friend 3:
Comparison is exhausting.

Maya:
Maybe if I change who I am people will like me more.

Friend 1:
God already likes you.

Maya:
Yeah but I want everyone else to.

Friend 2:
God didn’t design you to copy someone else.

Friend 3:
His plan for you is better.

Maya:
Even if it’s not popular?

Friend 1:
Especially then.

Narrator:
The world says: “Follow your heart.”

God says: “Follow Me.”

And His way is always better.

Cue Song

Choir sings Your Way's Better

Scene 4 — Diamond Finale

Lighting

Gold/bright white with sparkle effects.

Stage Blocking

All actors return to stage.

Dialogue

Narrator:
Diamonds don’t start beautiful.

They begin as carbon… buried deep… under extreme pressure.

But over time… something amazing happens.

(Characters step forward one by one.)

Alex:
God forgives our past.

Jayden:
God gives power over temptation.

Maya:
God gives us a true identity.

Friend 1:
God turns pressure…

Friend 2:
into purpose.

Friend 3:
and pain…

Narrator:
into something beautiful.

(Devil sneaks back on stage quietly.)

Devil:
Wait… they’re not supposed to shine!

(Spotlight on students.)

Students together:
Too late.

God is making diamonds!
